NAVARASA NATYALAYA

Where tradition becomes expression, discipline becomes grace, and every stage begins with devotion.

About The School

NavaRasa Natyalaya, guided by the timeless principle "நடனம் ஆன்மாவின் யோகம் / नृत्यं आत्मनि योगः" — "Dance is a union with the self (Ātma)" — is dedicated to preserving, nurturing, and propagating the rich heritage of Bharatanatyam.

Over the years, the school has grown into a vibrant community of learners across all age groups, fostering artistic excellence, discipline, and cultural values through classical dance education. Today, NavaRasa Natyalaya proudly serves students through its two branches in Magarpatta and Handewadi.

Guidance shaped by devotion, rigor, and years of stage practice

Our school is led by Smt. Vihaasini Selvakumar, born and raised in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, whose passion for the arts began with music lessons at four and formal dance training at seven. She trained under several gurus and later joined Thanjavur Kala Vidhyala Bharatanatyam School, where under the guidance of Guruji Dr. Roshani Vijayan, she pursued the art with devotion. Completing her Arangetram in 2018, she earned the title Natya Kalai Selvi and has since performed at numerous Natyanjali festivals and world record events. Her achievements include prestigious titles such as Veera Natya Vithagi and Nrutya Vibushan. She is currently advancing her Nattuvangam training under Dr. Ranjani Goshal and Carnatic music training under Palakkad Rajesh Keshavan, continuing her journey of artistic excellence and devotion.
